Current projects include the following:

 

Wildlife management

  • Tracking and monitoring priority species

  • Bird and predator counts

  • Reintroduction and relocation of wildlife

  • Creation of animal identification kits

  • Rehabilitation of injured animal (if the need arises - please note, we are not a rehabilitation centre)

  • Camera trap surveys

  • Small mammal, insect and reptile research

  • Citizen Science projects

 

General reserve management

  • Alien/invasive species removal

  • Landscape rehabilitation

  • Fence monitoring and repair

  • Sable and buffalo breeding

 

Community outreach/education work

  • Educating and working with local communities in environmental education and sustainable agriculture 

 

Other

  • Endemic species propagation and carbon credit programs

  • Research for universities, NGOs and other research facilities

  • Introduction to game ranging and reserve management

  • Introduction to wildlife photography

 

***This is a working reserve, so sometimes our schedule and projects may change suddenly due to internal and external factors beyond our control. As with everything in the bush, the key is to be adaptable and stay open to change.
